2011 saw the first running of the Victorian Madison Championships here in Ballarat on our newly resurfaced Marty Busch Reserve velodrome. In 2012 we are back with new clubrooms and a partnership with the Ballarat Cancer Research Centre's Spokes Festival. The weekend of February 11 and 12 will see mountain bike racing, BMX racing and our Madison Carnival all on the Saturday and then we would love you to stay overnight and join in the huge Come to Life community ride on the Sunday. All funds raised go to the BCRC.
Total prizemoney for the Madison will be doubled and we have listened to your comments about last year's racing - so some changes will be in store.
We know you loved having the draft program available on line and available to read in the lead up to the meet, we know you loved the quality of the racing and the first ever madisons for women and juniors. We saw how much both riders and spectators enjoyed the City Vs Country team challenge and we noted your enthusiasm for our barbecue and coffee machine.
This year we'll work to make the presentations smoother, to remove gaps in the program and to get results to you within hours of the meet's conclusion. We'll have real toilets not portaloos and if that cold wind is blowing up from Geelong we'll even let you take cover inside our new clubrooms.
Come and join us in Ballarat on February 11 - it's going to be a blast!
